F rom Software’s new title Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be releasing in just a few hours, on March 22, 2019. In the meantime, pre-order bonuses for the game have already arrived.

We got our hands on the Sekiro Collector’s Edition yesterday and wanted to give you guys a chance to see it up close:

So, what’s in the BOX?

  • A beautiful 7” (18cm) Shinobi Statue,
  • Game map,
  • Three replica game coins,
  • The collectible art book,
  • Digital soundtrack,
  • Full game in an exclusive Steelbook case.

The Sekiro Collector’s Edition was announced in December 2018, and it flew off the shelves in less than a week. I can’t say I’m surprised. This is one of the most reasonably priced collector’s I’ve seen. The price was $89.99 for the whole thing, considering the base game is $59.99. 

IS the Sekiro Collector’s Edition worth it? 

Honestly, with a price like this, I half-expected the shinobi statue to be mediocre. Compared to my Faraam Knight and Artorias figures, Sekiro is high-quality and detailed (you can check the figures side by side in my tweet). The sword is a bit flimsy, but I can’t complain. 

The steelbook, which is unique to the collector’s edition, is also very beautiful. The artbook is as all artbooks should be: long enough to be interesting, without giving away too much about the game. It’s also the perfect size to store alongside the steelbook. 

I have no idea what I’m going to do with the replica coins provided with the collector. They are larger than I expected, so I think I’ll just leave them in the box for safe-keeping. Finally, the map scroll is a work of art. The buildings and trees are very detailed, and the faded look matches the aesthetic of ancient Japanese scrolls.   

Overall, Sekiro’s Collector Edition was a steal! 

About the game:

Sekiro is a third-person action adventure game with super fast combat and superb RPG components that we have come to love in previous FROM SOFTWARE games. Although it’s FROM’s friendliest game to date, Sekiro is still bloody brutal (so expect to die more than twice). 

Sekiro is set in a mythical interpretation of Japan’s 1500s, during the Sengoku period, and follows the story of a shinobi seeking revenge.

As sworn Souls fans we are incredibly excited for Sekiro and will be covering the game extensively in upcoming articles.
